Wicked Problems & Sticky Solutions: EU AI Policy Hack Launch Event

A candid panel discussion on the realities of AI governance in Europe.

On April 17, 2026, the CIVICA EU AI Hackathon kicks off with the “Wicked Problems & Sticky Solutions” launch event at Ojin AixHaus. The event explores whether Europe can not only regulate AI but also effectively implement those regulations in practice, addressing the gap between policy ambition and real-world impact.

The evening features an unscripted panel discussion with experts from policy, technology, and governance, focusing on structural challenges (“wicked problems”) and practical solutions that actually hold up in real-world systems (“sticky solutions”). Topics include institutional constraints, regulatory gaps, and the complexities of applying AI governance frameworks in practice.

As the public opening of the three-day hackathon, the event creates space for critical dialogue, exchange of perspectives, and networking. It is open to students, researchers, practitioners, and anyone interested in how AI governance is implemented across Europe.
