Leibniz Prize Lecture

Pioneering work in Machine Learning and Explainable AI – A keynote lecture by 2026 Leibniz Prize laureate Klaus-Robert Müller.

On May 28, 2026, Prof. Dr. Klaus-Robert Müller, 2026 Leibniz Prize laureate and Co-director of BIFOLD, will deliver his Leibniz Prize Lecture at TU Berlin. The lecture highlights his pioneering research characterized by a unique blend of formal mathematical thought and application-oriented discovery—ranging from the principles of Support Vector Machines to foundational work in Explainable AI (XAI) and machine learning applications in the natural sciences.

The lecture is followed by the formal announcement of the new TU Berlin University Foundation, established to foster research, innovation, and early-career support. The evening concludes with a vibrant Summer Festival on campus starting at 5:00 PM, celebrating the 80th anniversary of TU Berlin. This event provides an excellent platform for networking and exchange between the university community and partners from politics, business, and society.
