Government AI Summit 2026

Digitally sovereign despite GenAI? Moving from current research to practical application.

On April 27 and 28, 2026, the Government AI Summit 2026 will take place at the Merantix AI Campus in Berlin. This summit brings together leading AI researchers and decision-makers from politics and public administration to explore the profound impact of Generative AI on the public sector. The core focus is on how public authorities can maintain and strengthen digital sovereignty in an era of automated processes and intelligent decision support.

The program bridges the gap between academic research and practical implementation. Across three thematic tracks—current GenAI developments, facets of sovereignty, and the transition from conceptualization to specialized applications—the event examines strategic, organizational, and technical dimensions of AI. In addition to keynotes from high-profile speakers (including DFKI, LMU, and the United Nations), the summit emphasizes interactive formats such as deep-dive fishbowls and science slams.

Designed as a dialogue platform for a modern, AI-supported administration, the summit is aimed at professionals and leaders looking to move beyond evaluation to the active and responsible implementation of AI systems. A networking dinner on the first evening provides ample opportunity for high-level exchange in an intimate setting.
